I put this picture on my web page to remind myself daily of the most valuable part of my practice -- the children of my clients.   What parent does not remember this first moment of life?  As a father of four children, I am resolved to never forget what children mean to my clients.  Every client is treated as I would want to be treated if my relationship with my own children were called into question by a legal proceeding. 

There is a tension in most divorce cases:  There is a well worn but true saying in the law, "If you are not prepared for trial, be prepared to take an unreasonable settlement."  On the other hand, it is just as important to know when not to pull every lever and take the case to a full trial at maximum expense when a reasonable settlment can be quickly and cheaply reached.  Family law, most of all, requires judgment.
